Day 1:
Darwin - Arrive
in Darwin and settle into your accommodation.
Spend the rest
of the day exploring Darwin's attractions, such
as the Darwin Wharf Precinct which incorporates
the Australian Pearling Exhibition and Indo
Pacific Marine, a living marine eco-tourism
display featuring the coral reefs of the Northern
Territory.
Finish the day
at one of the alfresco eateries and enjoy fresh
seafood as the sun sets over the Timor Sea.

Day 2:
Litchfield National
Park - Travel south of Darwin to explore Litchfield
National Park which features rugged sandstone
escarpments with waterfalls surrounded by monsoon
rainforest.
Spend the day
exploring the numerous bushwalking trails and
swimming in crystal-clear waterholes.

Day 3:
Darwin City Sights, Crocodiles - Spend the morning
relaxing in town. Check out a few of the galleries
in the city that stock indigenous art from over
the Top End.
At the Museum
and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory view
the collections of Australian arts and Aboriginal
art and craft.
This afternoon
get up close to a saltwater crocodile at either
Crocosaurus Cove, Crocodylus Park, or on a jumping
crocodile cruise on the Adelaide River.

Day 4:
Territory Wildlife Park, Berry Springs - Take
a short drive from Darwin to the Territory Wildlife
Park. Set on 400 hectares of bushland, the park
showcases Territory wildlife in natural habitats
- plan to spend most of the day here.
On the way back
to Darwin stop in at Berry Springs Nature Reserve
for a refreshing swim in palm-fringed waterholes.
This afternoon
join a sunset cruise on Darwin Harbour for a
relaxing evening on the water.

Notes:
Fatigue causes many crashes in Australia.
When driving long distances, stop and rest
every 1-2 hours.
Try to have someone sit beside you to keep
you company driving as our NT roads can be long and
straight.
Alcohol and driving dont mix.
For experienced drivers the blood alcohol level
is 0.05.
Provisional drivers and young drivers may not
have any alcohol before driving.
Seat belts and child restraints must be worn
by all vehicle occupants.
Always carry a copy of your drivers license in English.
Dont drive after dark.
Take plenty of
water on all Outback trips;
check distances and driving conditions;
and ensure you have adequate petrol at all times.
Remember, rule Number 1 in the Outback: if your
car breaks down you MUST stay with your vehicle for
safety reasons.
Parks & Wildlife Commission Northern Territory provides
information on camping, National Parks, and permits.
Ensure you are informed re the safety of swimming
in the Top End many areas are not safe to swim due
to crocodiles.
